Lisa Wojno was elected to the Macomb County Board of Commissioners in November 2024, where she represents the 11th District, covering north Warren. A lifelong resident of Warren, Lisa is deeply committed to her community and has spent her career advocating for people. Lisa and her husband, Paul, have raised their three children in Warren. As a lifelong resident, she graduated from Warren High School and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Oakland University. Lisa spent a number of years working as a registered nurse at Royal Oak Beaumont Hospital, gaining experience across a variety of units.
In 2002, Lisa was elected to the Michigan House of Representatives, representing the 28th District, which included parts of Warren and Center Line. She was re-elected in 2004 and 2006. During her time in the legislature, Lisa was recognized for her leadership and commitment to public safety and healthcare. She was named Legislator of the Year by the Michigan Sheriff’s Association and earned the “Friend of Nursing” award. Lisa played a key role in establishing a 24-hour nursing home hotline and securing funding for sheriff departments to improve training programs.
After being term-limited from the legislature, Lisa transitioned back to the private sector, joining Northwood, Inc., a local benefit management company. As Chief Operating Officer since 2012, she has worked to ensure that people receive medically necessary home equipment they need to live independently.
Outside of her professional life, Lisa is an active member of Impact 100 Macomb and supports local causes such as I Heart Dog Rescue and Animal Haven in Warren. She is passionate about giving back to the community and continues to find ways to make a positive impact. Serving others is part of Lisa’s DNA, and she is excited to bring her years of experience to the Macomb County Board of Commissioners. As a newly elected Commissioner, Lisa’s top priorities include securing adequate federal and state funding for Macomb County, strengthening road and water infrastructure, and supporting programs for seniors, veterans, and those with mental health needs.
