Commissioner James Perna was first elected in 1996 representing Clinton Township. He served four, two-year terms and was reelected in 2022 representing District 7, serving parts of each Clinton Township, Macomb Township and Shelby Township.
James Perna has more than 40 years of experience in the finance industry and is involved in many charities. He served in the United States Army. He is married to Deborah and has 3 daughters and 6 grandchildren.
His goals are to continue moving Macomb County forward, strengthen infrastructure and help assist and train our younger population to be future leaders.
