About Joe

Board Chair Joe Sabatini is serving his sixth term on the Board and was unanimously elected by his fellow Commissioners at the beginning of 2025 to serve as Board Chair for their first four-year term.  He represents District 4, which is the vast majority of Macomb Township.  During his previously served terms, he also represented Clinton Township, Shelby Township and the City of Utica.  He currently serves as Chair of the Intermediate Trust Board and member of the Retiree Healthcare Board.  Throughout his time on the Board, he has also served as Finance/Audit/Budget Committee Chair, Justice & Public Safety Vice-Chair, Audit Committee Chair, and on a number of ad hoc committees.

Sabatini is a member of the Michigan Association of CPA’s, Michigan Nature Association, Macomb County Farm Bureau, St. Isidore Catholic Church, Italian American Cultural Society, and Right to Life of Central Macomb.

Sabatini has over 25 years of both local and national business experience in the private and public sector.  He holds a Bachelor of Science (Double Major) in Accounting and Finance from Oakland University.  He is a licensed Realtor in the State of Michigan and is a member of multiple real estate associations.  He is a lifelong Macomb County resident and resides in Macomb Township.
