The Older Adult Advisory Committee (OAAC) of the Macomb County Board of Commissioners will be holding its August meeting at the Fraser Senior Activity Center. This meeting will take place on Tuesday, August 26, 2025 at 3:00 pm at: 34935 Hidden Pine Drive, Fraser.
“Thank you to the Fraser Senior Center for hosting our August OAAC meeting,” said Commissioner Barbara Zinner, OAAC Chair. “Fraser is our seventh senior center visit in the past few years. These meetings give us the opportunity to learn about what is available in each community so we can share that information with others.”
At this meeting, the OAAC will hear from the Commissioner that represents Fraser – District 10 Commissioner Harold L. Haugh. The committee will also welcome Shelia Coté, Director of Macomb County Senior Services, who will give a presentation on findings from two surveys conducted by the Elder Justice Alliance: Survey on Abuse in Later Life: Professionals and Service Providers and Survey on Abuse in Later Life: Services and Support for Individuals Being Harmed. Furthermore, the Committee will share important updates, information, and initiatives. The OAAC meeting is open to the public and all are invited to attend. There are two opportunities for public participation at all meetings.
The OAAC serves as an advisory committee to the Macomb County Board of Commissioners. Members are appointed to represent each of the 13 Commissioner districts, along with 4 at-large members. The committee generally meets monthly to learn and inquire about challenges, trends, concerns, and opportunities affecting older adults in the County and communicates with the Commissioners what is learned.
