Macomb County Board of Commissioners Seeking to Fill Vacancy on the Macomb County Human Services Board 

The Macomb County Board of Commissioners is seeking candidates to consider for an expiring term on the Human Services Board.  Applicants must be Macomb County residents and must not hold an elective office.  The three-year term runs from November 1, 2026 through October 31, 2029.

This Human Services Board administers the provisions of the County’s social welfare services in accordance with the Social Welfare Act, Public Act 280 of 1939, including the Martha T. Berry Medical Facility.  The Human Services Board has operational control of the Martha T. Berry Facility as specified by the Joint Operation Agreement of January 22, 2009.

Applicants should expect to attend the Government Oversight Committee meeting on October 7, 2026 at 3 PM for a public interview. Appointments will take place at the October 22, 2026 Full Board meeting.
