The Macomb County Board of Commissioners hosted a significant and productive event aimed at fostering collaboration and communication between state legislators and county commissioners. The commissioners welcomed both state legislators and County Executive Mark Hackel. “This is another way we are working together as one team with one mission for the betterment of Macomb County, said Chair Brown.”
Titled “Engaging Dialogue: Macomb County State Legislators and Commissioners Discuss Local Priorities,” the event took place on Tuesday, August 15th, at 1:00 p.m. at the 1st Floor of 1 South Main Street, Mount Clemens. The event turned out an impressive number of elected representatives and engaged residents.
The Town Hall showcased a series of talking points that enriched the discourse on local matters:
Legislators’ Insights: Esteemed state legislators, including Senator Stephanie Chang (District 3), Senator Michael Webber (District 9), Senator Veronica Klinefelt (District 11), Senator Kevin Hertel (District 12), Representative Veronica Paiz (District 11), Representative Kimberly Edwards (12), Representative Donovan McKinney (14), District Director Michelle Smith for Representative Thomas Kuhn (District 57), Representative Nate Shannon (District 58), Representative Douglas Wozniak (District 59), Representative Joseph Aragona (District 60), Representative Denise Mentzer (District 61), Representative Jay DeBoyer (District 63), and Representative Jaime Greene (District 65), took the stage to introduce themselves and discuss vital state level issues impacting Macomb County. Their insights provided a better understanding of the legislative landscape and how it directly influences the community’s needs.
Topics of Discussion: A range of subjects vital to Macomb County’s development and well-being included infrastructure improvements, roads, education, and elections.
Members of the media, community leaders, and concerned citizens were invited to attend. This contributed to the event’s success and reinforced the importance of transparent and accessible dialogue between the commissioners and the constituents they serve.
