The Macomb County Board of Commissioners is seeking to fill two vacancies on the Macomb County Veterans Affairs Commission. This position is open to residents of Macomb County who have served honorably on active duty or those who have served actively in a U.S. war. These are both partial terms, beginning November 1, 2022 and ending July 31, 2023.
The appointed members, along with the other members of the Veterans Affairs Commission, will assist in overseeing the Veterans Services Department. Specific duties of commission members include:
Applicants shall have demonstrated knowledge, skills and experience in public service, business or finance. The statute requires the commission to have one independent member who may or may not be a member of a congressionally chartered veterans’ organization.

Interested individuals should submit original, signed applications to the Board Office no later than 5 PM on October 5, 2022. Applicants should expect to attend the Government Oversight Committee meeting on October 12, 2022, at 3 PM for a public interview. Appointments will take place at the October 27th Full Board meeting.
